Holster Projects

Launched in Notting Hill Gate in 2008 by directors Chloe Gill and Ashley Sands, Holster Projects is dedicated to exhibiting the works of international emerging to mid career artists.  The galleries first few exhibitions featured artists such as Annysa Ng, who was recently named by the Sunday Times as one of 10 Talents to Watch in their article on art investment.

Both Directors work to engage young collectors by introducing them to global markets thorough a series of events and exhibitions. The idea for starting a gallery came when it became apparent that there was unrecognized talent in the international art world and young people who were interested in the arts and wanting to start collections but finding it difficult to draw a connection with the arts.

Holster Projects also offers an art consultancy service to private and corporate collections.

Tamara Kvesitadze

Tamara Kvesitadze's solo show Creation showcases her body of work including drawings, maquettes and sculptures, including works to be shown for the first time in the UK.

Kvesitadze was born in Tibilisi, Georgia and while her work is not immediately recognizable as being from this region, the influences can be seen upon a closer examination of her art.

The works are typical of a country at the crossroads of Europe and Asia with the blending of of Western, Eastern and Byzantine cultures. Kvesitadze's moving figural sculptural works are full of contradictions: they portray both birth and death, the organic and the mechanical, the cold rock and the warm body that has challenged our senses for centuries.

Kvesitatdze's drawings and sculptures all explore this conundrum of the mechanics of our everyday life while at the same time possessing a sense of timelessness.

The artist currently lives and works in Paris. She has exhibited internationally and exhibited on behalf of Georgia at 2007's Venice Biennale.
