Our next art and photography exhibition is proudly brought to us by ART in the flat

Art in the Flat is a contemporary art gallery located in a private home in South Kensington, London. The concept of this gallery is to show visitors stunning contemporary art surrounded by a modern living environment.

Paintings and photography are exhibited throughout the flat. Most of the artwork comes from South America and Italy, as the owner's roots have influenced the choice of the art pieces.

In this opportunity some of Art in the Flat's well known artists such as Jose Carlos Martinat, Evelyn Merino Reyna, Marco Carpio, Diego Alvarado, Daniela Praca will be presenting their outstanding photography and paintings at the Cobden.

Artists

Joseph Firbas is a Peruvian artist who has obtained several prizes in painting and drawing throughout his career.

His work has been displayed in important galleries and museums in Panama, Santo Domingo, United States, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, Canada and Germany.

Joseph knows how to work splendid textures, such as on the creation of spaces or on the definition of bodies- this is what gives warmth to his drawing.

Diego Alvarado is a Peruvian photographer with a Bachelor degree in Photography and Art Design from the Ringling School of Art and Design, Florida.

He also studied Sculpture and Fashion Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Art, Painting and Human figure in Boston, Advanced Photography at the St Martin College in London and Art History in Florence.

He worked as a photographer and creative contributor for Victorian Homes & Gardens magazine in New York, as a freelance photographer for multinational advertising agencies in Peru and later opened Photo Atelier studio in Basel, Switzerland.

He is currently working for the Fashion and Style section of a well-known Peruvian Magazine “Somos” and owns Photostudiodesign in Lima, dedicated to various photographic projects.

Evelyn Merino-Reyna is a Peruvian photographer who works and lives in Lima.

Having captured images whilst traveling in China, Morocco, The Caribbean, Spain and Switzerland between 2005 and 2008, Evelyn Merino-Reyna’s seeks to continue studying and producing photographic material such as aerial photography, essays of nature, fashion, trips, movies, scenic arts, portraits and personal artistic material.

Evelyn has exhibited in various individual exhibitions in Peru and has done numerous photographic works for commercial identities.

Her work can also be found on the latest photography book edited by Mario Testino called Lima.

Jose Carlos Martinat studied Graphic Design and Photography in Peru.

His interest on experimenting and the search for the interrelation between individual, space and image has taken him to work on various media, such as video, audio, engines, sensors of movement, lightning, digital supports and robotic.

In 2004 was selected by The World Wide Video Festival to produce and present a project called “Space of Stereo - Reality” in Amsterdam. Jose Carlos later won with “Space of Stereo - Reality 2” during a festival organised by Telefonica from Spain.

His work as a photographer has been published on various newspapers and magazines.

Martinat co-edited an art and photography book commissioned by Mario Testino.

Daniela Praca is a Brazilian photographer, currently living and working in Hamburg, Germany.

After studying photography in Sao Paulo, Daniela developed a special way to see life through the lense.

Having visited countries as Peru and Argentina, many in Europe and travelled inside her home country, Daniela improved her ability to identify nice shots.

Daniela's professional focus is social events, specially those related to children, but photographing everyday life in a different perspective is her personal interest.

She also likes to play with the light, creating special effects in the images she captures.
